Series 3 FFR Fuel Pump.

Hi All.
I am contemplating putting a 24 volt Fuel Pump on my 1984 109 FFR Petrol. I am having problems with the mechanical pump. It keeps draining back into the tanks. Would you recommend any perticular make or type and has anyone done this already.

Why not fit a one way valve instead? The float in the carb should hold enough to get the system primed, though.

Thanks for your reply. That had not occurred to me. However, I think I might gave a problem at the Change-over Valve. I got a strong smell of petrol in the Cab and when I checked the fuel lines I noticed that there was petrol under the valve. Checked the connections and all were tight.

Could it be air in the lines allowing it to seep back under gravity

I have a feeling that it is leaking at the valve. I am taking it off this evening to have a look.

When I was last searching for air leaks I placed some grease over joints as a check

I have connected the fuel pump to just 1 tank and it is running fine.
