Hi guys, does any one know if there is an easier way to get to the FBH ambient sensor which is behind the front bumper with out having to remove bumper.
It made me wonder as my local stealer charges £100 an hour & have quoted me £22.50 +vat for sensor & £65.00 + vat for fitting, to me that is about 35mins labour time ? that seem's bloody quick to remove & replace bumper. Do they know something we don't,
Any info would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks Griz................

The sensor can be seen through the lower mesh grille, using a torch. The sensor simply pushes into a rubber grommet and has two electrical connections.Apart from cutting the mesh grille your access options are limited. My first Flander front bumper removal took ages as I had to drill, grind and generally hack away the poor quality corroded O.E fittings. All self tapper fittings on the fleet are now stainless and use 10mm bolt heads. Bumper removal now takes 5 mins. Sorted. D..

I just cut a small piece of the mesh, bent it out of the way and hey presto- access to the switch. Fold mesh back into place and you can't tell. No one looks at it anyway...
