hi guys just recently i have been able to hear a loud ticking noise from the rear drivers side wheel arch i have had the fuel pump and filter housing out to check if it was resting against the chassis but i have read that the fbh pump is located back there as well but can't find it! is it in the housing for the fuel pump the ticking is driving me mad, the car is running and starting fine

The fbh pump is tucked away above the main fuel pump and filter on the off-side rear wheel arch.

Lots of people would love to hear the ticking in this cold weather.

It'll stop when warmer weather returns. ;)

There is nothing wrong at all - but if it really bugs you and you don't mind the engine taking ages to warm up and the heater not being much good, you could always pull the fuse.

I'd rather be warm though.

No snow for me to go and play in, up here in sunny Scotland.

Singvogel.

If its driving you nuts turn up the stereo. Mine only ticks for a short while but i prefer the heat so i put up with it.

cheers guys i think i can put up with it for now i prefer the heat, just relieved its not the main pump, the fbh pump must be housed inside the body somewhere

No, it's not inside the body - it's held in position with springy clips to the body above the fuel pump.

It's quite small, and you can't see it unless you drop the pump and filter housing.

ah must have missed it then i will look when the filter needs changing i'm not taking it out again!
