faulty HEVAC display

I have a faulty display..... the numbers on the display have bits missing. the quick clear might not show up too. this was playing up last year but fixed it self but its back again...... tried to fix it with the faithful slapping to the side of the dash....... but that didn't work!
any links to fixing or is it a bin job!

Does the display appear when you put pressure on the glass with your finger, i have read on another site about putting something in between the glass and the frame to get all the display to show

when it 1st played up i did push the front and it had a small effect once, but now it dont do anything now.....
