I currently have 2 Freelander 1.8 K series, 1 is a 5 door with a failed head gasket and will be put back on the road asap, and the other is a 3 door, on the 3 door the remote locks both doors but only unlocks the passenger and boot door, and on the 5 door most times I have to press the unlock button several times to make all the doors unlock, I have heard that the central locking solenoid is the same as the Rover 75. Is this true? But I want to fix the 3 door as I am selling it to fund the 5 doors repairs.

All advice greatly appreciated.

I used the wrong word then lol, I meant to say actuator not solenoid. But is my Gold Freelander a facelift? Both my Freelanders are 2000 reg. The Gold one is a V reg and the other is a W reg.

neither of the freelanders shown are facelift, and even if they were, it wouldn't matter as the door lock assembly is the same pre and post facelift.

good luck

Actuator / solenoid, in this case it's one and the same.

I was having a blonde moment lol, I know neither of mine are face lift but assumed FL meant Face Lift as it does on other forums lol I now realise it means FreeLander lol. But all the same, Thank You

Lol it's an easy mistake. When I first bought my FL, I mistakenly called it a 'Landie', to which the seller replied,

"No, mate, this is a landie!!"

"What you've just bought is a female version of it"...... the cheeky bugger!!

Im having the same issue with my drivers door lock, all works fine with the key and even locks all the doors with the fob, just does not unlock the drivers door with the fob, What I was wondering is if the locking unit was easy to fit and also was wondering if the rover 75 has the same unit, as from what Ive seen they seem to use a lot of the same bits for the engine, and the parts seem to be cheaper, and paying less is always a bonus :)

locking unit takes about an hour to do if you've not done it before till you work out where all the rods and cables go.

not hard to do, just fiddly. Have no idea about using a rover 75 lock. The commonality was that they both used the same power plant (td4) but not sure that extended anywhere else in the vehicle.

Lock assembly is about £75 from a main dealer or £50 from ebay.

good luck
