Faultmate what? MSV2 or Code reader. They are locked to a VIN number so won't work even if you do get the wiring done.

Helped a bit thanks Dan, just need what colour wire goes to what pin the ODB2 plug on the other end is fine.
Even though the full connector has every pin specified very few are required for a working connection. Perhaps a trip to a friendly Indie with a faultmate will get you a chance to buzz-out a cable if you put some donation in their coffee-fund?
Keith @Datatek may well know.

Looks like only 7 pins have had wires soldered to them and another 2 are bridged Dan, with 9 wires to choose from. my local Indy has Testbook :(

Someone maybe kind enough to check theirs and let you know colour codes to pin outs. Why they have been disconnected in the first place is another question.

Is the "other" end still properly wired up? That should give you all the clues you need shouldn't it?
Tx on the one becomes Rx at the other end etc.
A crap problem to have, but it should be resolvable.
Ahhh... but its the OBD2 connector at the other end.... I guess

Is it the 7 pin connector or the bigger one. If you are stuck, I can open the cable up and give you a wire list.
Hi Kieth its the 15 pin plug to the obd2plug, just been on the blackbox forum and it must be a common problem .Got a wiring diagramwhich shows the pins with coloured boxes by them, then they go on to say that these colours don't correspond to the wire colours luckily they include a pin crossover list:rolleyes: Thanks again and to you @wammers for your help.

Aha, Takdriver responded. I still need to get a postage quote. Fell in the pub at lunchtime though and never quite made it out.
