Fault

Hi I have a 05 range sport auto, keep getting engine system fault, and no power?! Help

You need to get the codes read otherwise its just a guessing game.

Is it a 2005 TDV6 2.7 And do u loose power if u boot it

Hi been t several garages, 1st new gear box! Took to a gearbox specialist said it was the engine! Feel like a hamster going round in circles. Have cleared the faults, so what next? Is it the gearbox or engine, or ecu?

Land rover garages or just run of the mill, if run of the mill forgive for saying, you'd have been as well throwing your money away
So what were the faults before you cleared them
You need to give some clues, I'll bet its one of the 3 you mention

Is a 2.7 yes, can't boot it won't select a gear.

Do u happen to have the fault codes written down please, really need them as without them ur be bashing ur head against the wall

If u turn the engine off and back on again will it clear the fault and back to full power again plse

It will power up if engine is put in neutral then back in gear but it will continue to not select gear when dricing again. Not got the fault codes, have a basic reader so will have a look and see what codes that brings up.

Thks, please let us know what codes comes up , also have u had the gearbox oil level checked or the oil replaced

Urs is a ZF 6hp

There is a guy in the Range Rover forum who is wizard with these gearboxes

See what codes come up please and then post a thread over in the Range Rover section , where he should see ur post

Hope that helps and will keep an eye out for ur thread to see if I can help any further

As a side note, ref the picture u can see how complicated ur system is and how important it is to get codes, as it could even be a wheel sensor causing all the issues ???

At least u know ur get plenty of help as we’re a helpful bunch without worrying about a rip off garage , lol

Thks for the heads up

Am wondering when the ATF oil was last changed , as the OP is reporting a gear issue , sounds like it’s going into failsafe limp mode when a big F comes up on the message screen

Have the same gearbox in mine and always happy to help where I can

Also included a picture of how the gearbox interacts with other systems , all good fun
