Fan noise?

Is it usual for a 1990 RR V8's fan to be pretty loud, until you keep it at the same revs and it suddenly goes quiet, still working, but doesn't sound like a hovercraft?! Not a major problem, but would like to hear a bit more engine

Hi my 89 makes a heck of a lot of noist from the fan like a wooshing type noise

Also if you can hear it from inside it could be the filter connection not quiet tight enough and if you have a K&N (utoh she doesn't like K&N must be evil) or better style cone filter you get a wooshing noise

Nah, I reckon it's just the fan. K&Ns make damn good noise! Am about to get the replacement element - sound good?
