Hi. It has been quite a while since I have posted. Would really appreciate some more advice. When my fan heater is on, it blows out hot air. However, there is a high pitch whistle from what appears to be the motor. It sounds as though something is in it. Is it easy to access the fan? If so, how?
Thanks.

Might have got a leaf or two in there over the winter.
It can be removed underneath the passenger glove box

Had same on mine, blower was filthy and contained remnants of cobnuts from the mice living in the bonnet insulation.

BTW I found no need to remove glovebox, it can all be done with that in place. Once removed, I pulled the impeller off the motor and gave the whole thing a good clean, then a non-sticky oil to the motor. From looking at the design, it seems to draw cooling air for the motor in from the air plenum, so naturally pulls in all the dust and dirt to the motor area. As an aside, I found that as a temp fix (before I took it all apart) was to weave the vehicle left and right, or to switch the cc on and off. Seemed to temporarily stop the chirping, but then again it wasn’t a big fix to do it properly. You may also find bits of the filter gauze in there from the scuttle intake....

I've had mine off twice to fix it but it always returns despite using aquarium foam in the plenum filter. Mine whistles slightly when I brake - I guess inertia pulls the fan across. For ages I was hunting for a problem with the brakes before I once tried with the heater switched off and blissful silence!

Quick update.Fan successfully removed. Noticed a wire hanging down from where the fan came. Pulled it and realised the wire was in fact the end of a sat nav charger, The charger was in the glovebox and the wire had slipped behind the back and down into the fan. Wish I had checked the glovebox first.
