My P38 2.5 DSE has the fan belt slipping a bit - This engine has a self tensioner which isn't keeping the belt tight enough - any one had problems with this before?

YES HAD A SIMULAR FAULT.
SELF TENSIONER ABOUT 28 QUID TO BUY NEW.
HOWEVER ON MY CAR THE SQUEEK WAS ACTUALLY THE CENTRE BEARING ON THE TURBO.
sOUNDED LIKE FAN BELT SLIPPING NOISE BUT IT WASNT.
RECONTURBO 280 QUID

GOOD LUCK
 
Thanks for that - pretty sure it is the tensioner as the belt doesn't feel very tight - nothing like as tight as I would do it manually anyway
