Hello again, anyone got advice re changing the fan belt on a 2.25 petrol engine ? It's the belt that drives from the crank, to the fan, watter pump etc.

Will I have to remove the fan, or casing etc...? before fitting the new one, ?

Thanks in advance. :)

The alternator or dynamo is basically the adjuster.

If you look at the braket that mounts the alternator you will see that the top one is slotted. Losen the bolts thru the slot and the long bolts at the bottom of the alternator (this is the pivot) and you will find that you can pivot the alternator inwards towards the engine and the fan belt will become loose. You can then take it off the pulleys and over the fan.

Replacement is the reverse. :)

Be careful not to over tension the belt when you replace it, but too loose and it will slip.
