fan belt help

I have lived abroad too long and am desperatley searching for the correct name for the wheel the fan belt and generator belt sit on, its at the bottom front of the engine, about 8 inches in diameter and held tight by one large bolt. Mine came loose somehow, probably due to the massive load this is under, and i lost all power, the belts went and made a horrible noise!! I want to order from the UK but cant remember the name...Thanks

yeah crankshft pulley what engine is it on? i saw a 200tdi destroy the end of its crankshaft when the bolt came undone

its on a 2.5N/A diesel, it just came off!!! Surely thats not meant to happen..

with it off is the woodruff key/ keyway intact and does the crankshaft look ok? can you upload some photos?

cant do the pix as im now at work, crank looks ok but the pulley (?) is cracked so need a new one...i will 1st find out if the crankshafts gone when i put the pulley on and try to drive wont I?

im nowhere near being a mechanic, what should i look for on the crankshaft then?

scoring in the metal, damage to the woodruff key (if its still there) damage to the woodruff keyway, excessive tapering of the crankshaft if it has done what the last one i saw do it did you will have a knackered crankshaft
