Remove EGR valve, I have

Remove them, blanking kit is about £15.00 and on pre 2006 D3 the engine management light won't even come on, I had the choice £250.00 to fit 1 new EGR then have the possibility of the other one going a few weeks later . No thanks!!! Bin them and plate them off .

I would stick with it. All the big modern cars are quite complex, and will tend to require a certain amount of fettling. At least the landie parts are a bit more reasonably priced than the Jap or German equivalents.:)
We aren't supposed to abuse you out here, much as we would like to! :) You will have to post in AG if you want that! ;) :D

Try mumsnet for some love?
And what is a gearbox 'from' ????
Mumsnet? Sam always gets plenty of love right here!

Probably a good suggestion!

Hi Sam
Dont blame you for wanting to chuck it in! My 14 odd months of Disco ownership have cost me almost £4k! IMO Not really acceptable for a 10 year old car that might drop its guts at any moment!
But I dont know what it is about Land Rovers, once you get hooked everything else seems boring/predicable!
I still want a Disco 4, when the budget allows, I must be mad!
But kudos to you for sticking with it, and this forum, so far! You didnt just throw in the towel and leave it at a dealers to fix, you sought help and got it, that gets my respect any day!
