Series 3 Fairey FWH service kit

Hi all

I was going to get rid of my FWH and go back to standard as one of the hubs was just rotating without doing anything (missing the screw)
But i decided to try and fix them.

So I bought the kit that comes with: rubber seals, plastic straps, roll pins, foam washer, brass srews/bolts, gaskets

I have also bought 12 new bolts (215331) and axle grease

I was wondering why the I need to undue the 6 bolts and replace the gasket just to service the free wheeling hubs?

and if i do replace the gasket, do i need to top up anything after

they are Fairey
