Aye that engine and back axle have been put in later. Mine's 1990 and still has the td engine and salisbury axle with drums on the back.

Ok then

I have just been offered a 200tdi disco and a 90 with a blown engine in it for my mint disco. He says it is already a 200 tdi 90 hence he has bought a running 200 tdi disco for a downer.

How hard is it to do a engine swap from the disco to the 90???? I have got good motor and engineering skill but limited money and lifting equipment..

The old turbo engine TD (not tdi) is a good solid engine and you'll be quite impressed with it. I have a 2.5 litre Naturaly Aspirated engine in my 1986 90, which is basically the same 19J engine (that's it's technical name) without the turbo block. It wont be as quick as your disco but it is a good strong running engine with plenty of power. Mine coasts up to 50 within 15-20 seconds on the flat, and will pull along at 60 all day.

i cant quite see the exact one on ebay so i dont really know what they are going for - was nearly £200 when new, including the long reach arm with is right handy for hoisting the engine up with and then reverseing your landy towards it with ya rear door open, makes carting engines around very easy.

make me a sensible offer and i will deliver it if that helps.

why not buy a cheap 200tdi engine and sell the disco and the dead engine ?
