Any one with a p38 diesel,i need to know the fip pump numbers, i need all the numbers stamped on the casing so i can cross reference against mine, thanx in advance.

the numbers on my pump are 0 460 406 994 under that it says ve r 515 then under that 2 244 966 then under that again 015 492 569482, these numbers are all off the diesel pump i bought from duckworth landrover, the pump is brand new not reckon so should be good numbers to go on.

cheers for that, did you fit yourself with no problems?,reason i ask is i swapped my engine ,now im told its got the wrong pump on it .its lumpy as **** on tickover .however in the donor car it ran mint ?.

any ideas then?,been on rovacom n says fuel temp too high and the injection timing is out ??????

did you here the engine when it was in the other car? the faults that have come up would seem to point to the pump, the fuel temp sensor is in the pump and the timing is controlled by the pump with the help of the needle lift sensor. you can check the pump timing with a dial gauge but unless you moved the pump or swapped it with another pump theres no reason for it to be out as it cant move on its own. hope you still got the pump of your old engine, that will save you a pretty penny.

i ran the donor car for 2/3 months to make sure ther wasnt a problem and it ran sound, the pump hasnt been touched,is it possible to have a plug on the wrong sesor ?,its sumfin daft as iv dun nearly 8000 miles in it with it like this but want to get it sorted.

the two black two pin plugs down at the bottom of the pump can be put on wrong, one goes to the sensor on the oil filter housing the other on the diesel pump its self. swap them round and do another diagnostic, i got those two wrong on my mates motor but realised before running it so dont know if it would throw them fault codes up by get them wrong.
