Does the 2003 onwards FL have an external temp sensor? Wouldn't mind one for my '02 if there is an option or an aftermarket alternative?

Well, if you want a cheap option Aldi have a battery one at the moment for £2.95 if there are any left. External sensor bolts to the bolt at bottom rear of front wing, just under the bottom lip of the passenger door. Cable hides under threshold and between dash and door seal and the unit just sits on the dash with a bit of tape. It even has an ice warning.

For some reason Land Rover never fitted an external temp sensor, my 2005 Freelander does not have one. I fitted just last week, the one as mentioned above (got mine in Lidl) it works well but does not have a back light so you cannot read it in the dark.

I also recently fitted one to my MGF but got this from ebay

This has a back light thats powered by the cigar lighter - or wire it in as I did so it comes on with the ignition. Its accurate as well.

thanks guys I'll check it out. Shame they never fitted one as standard - was hoping there was one on the later that I could retro fit.
