Hi all,

Just wondering whether anyone has tried/owns a pair of the extended seat rails for driver/passenger seats available aftermarket for Defenders, and if so, are they any good?

I have read that they raise the height of the seat, while giving 3" more travel rearwards. My only concern is that I might end up peering out through the top of the windscreen if the increase in height is too great.

Cheers

I've got MUD rails in my 110 Puma and a home-made equivalent in my 90.
They raise the seat by about an inch and are fine for me. Without them, I'd be very uncomfortable. I'm 6'4".

I've got mud rails too and think they are great main reason for getting a defender was that i could get the seat back further. I'm 6'3" but with stupidly long legs, i could do with the seat going back about another 1" really.
Please bear in mind you can only get a child behind the seat when the seat is right back.

Sounds like they may be a good way to go. The tallest person who drives our 90 is 6'1", so not as tall as you two, but definitely still beyond a truly comfortable height for the current stock set-up.

I have found a place that can get them for $109.00 NZ dollars (for one pair), which is about 57 GBP. Does that sound like a reasonable price, considering that they have to come from the UK?
