Expansion Tank Overflow Hose

Hi

Please don't laugh! but where does the the overflow hose that comes out of the neck of the metal expansion tank on a 2.5 Turbo Diesel 90 go (Part No 564724) on the parts diagram I have it just shows it connected to tank not where the other end goes. Take it has to go somewhere as the system needs to be sealed.

Just kind of drips down the inner wing, and then runs onto the road. You shouldnt get much out of it, it is only for if you overfill it!

Should just come out the back of the expansion tank at the top, then drop down behind and loop around so the end points vaguely upwards. In normal use the filler cap will seal the system- it's only if it opens under excess pressure that there will be anything in the overflow pipe.

Pipe it into your screen wash reservoir, save on top ups.
Or is that just a td5 top tip?

You would need a fair length of hose. Expansion tank is on the other side of the engine bay to screen reservoir on a 2.5td.

Whats a TD5?
