Hi all,

The Diffy I've just bought has a very new looking Exmoor Trim tilt and sticks but they really don't seem to have been fitted very well. The motor came with no paperwork for the installation of he sticks, just how to fit the tilt.

There doesn't seem to be a way on mine for the tilt to run smoothly from the top rain gulley into the side gulley - there is a flange behind the top gulley and this covers the top of the side gulley meaning that the tilt can only be fitted outside of the side gulley.

Also, there is a reinforced section across the middle of the tilt which logically should sit on the centre lateral stick however mine sits about 3" in front of the stick. This then causes the back flap to not reach the top of the tailgate.

I have emailed Exmoor for a copy of the instructions but no response as yet. If anyone has a PDF copy they could email me I really would be most grateful. Also, if any soft top owners could send me a photo of how the top gulley and door gulley fit together with the front stick as something is most definitely amiss.

Google has failed in this instance so I throw myself at the mercy of the Zone.

Ah well yes, I found that one but dismissed it as it was for an 88. Silly me, and thanks for your 45 seconds

Either there is a difference between the older and newer versions, or mine (and therefore probably others) are not quite made right, but the rear corner of the top channel is not mitred, only the top of the rear channel ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346057573.947975.jpg

This effectively sandwiches three layers together (the mounting tap and the two gullies) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346057657.968871.jpg so that the flange that guides the tilt into side channel actually blocks the channel and stops the tilt from entering.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346057594.155467.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346057690.288660.jpg

The only diff is 2 " but the basic way to assemble is the same. and yes the new ones would have improvement in design. You just have to out think the kit. Take your time and it will come together. Look around and see if you can find a vintage Fender/series club and see if they can help

Thanks for that Thor. It's really looking like I will need to bend down the flange on the top rail to allow the tilt to run down smoothly into the side rail but that can't be an approved solution.

Clearly some thought required. Hopefully Exmoor will come good with the destructions sometime soon.
