Right last Monday I had a centre and rear exhaust fitted to my 300TDi at a local exhaust centre, they went through there catalogue and ordered the parts for a 300Tdi (1996 with Cat) and fitted the boxes.

Well today I had a clutch fitted at my local 'Roeans Landy Specialists Telford' they have just informed me that the exhaust that has been fitted it for the 200TDi.

They said the centre box on a 300Tdi should be OVAL shaped and the one that is fitted is CIRCULAR.

My main questions are...

a) Should it have been possible for my local exhaust centre to have been able to fit the wrong exhaust?
b) Will it make any difference to the performance/ecomomy (YES LAUGH AT THAT) having a 200Tdi system fitted to a 300TDi?

Help needed, before I go and make a fool out of myself telling the exhaust garage they have fitted the wrong exhaust even if it fits perfectly and is now quieter.

Hi Simon, if it's of any use to you, I've got a 200 and a 300 sitting in the yard. I could go out and have a look if you like??

Cheers, if you wouldn't mind, thank you.

Hi Simon, sorry I'm a bit late, there was a lady in distress needed seeing to.

Re the Discos in my yard, exhaust systems and in particular the middle box:

Tdi 200 - cross-section, round

Tdi 300 - cross-section, oval.

Don't know where that takes you, but there you are:cool:

Cheers now I know I have the wrong one in the centre (the one they have fitted is round) and mine should be an OVAL for the 300Tdi.

I see we have the same sort of taste in cars (you have Disco's and a C3 Plurial) and I have a Disco Tdi / Citroen C2 1.4i Sensodrive and my wife has a Citroen C3 1.4i 16v Sensodrive )
