Hi, I have a 1977 Series 3 petrol Landy. I have been driving it for the last 6 months with no problems, but now, once it has been parked up overnight, I get a very excessive judder when I apply the brakes. The fault is as follows:
Thanks
- After being parked in the garage overnight the landy starts and drives out of the garage fine
- However, as soon as I apply the brakes (gently), I get a very serious judder that seems to shake the whole vehicle. If I come off the brake the judder disappears
- Despite the judder the vehicle stops (although I am only in 1st gear on drive
- The judder happens whether the clutch is in or out
- If I reverse and brake the judder does not happen, which is odd?
- If I drive backwards and forwards a couple of times, the judder (when driving forwards) continues, but after about half a dozen goes the judder disappears and the Landy drives fine for the rest of the day.
- After another night in the garage the judder reappears when I drive out of the garage again!
Thanks
