Yes, I definitely understand that!!! I just didn't want to have a mismatched top, canvas rear (possibly) and PVC tilt, and then there is the issue of trying to combine them..

Drop a line to John (link below) I bought mine from him and he fitted the new pvc to mine. he may be able to help with how and where to get the correct hood. Mine has a rear flap. the rear flap has heavy duty zips up each side which makes opening it a doddle. No faffing with ropes etc

@wardude. cheers for that.. I see the defender on his website looks familiar!!!! I looked at his 1987 online when I was looking for a 90 to buy.

No bother mate. Yeah he had about six in stock when i bought mine. i see he only has one GS model left. I bought mine blind from him relying on his description only. Very pleased with it. he has a PVC hood in stock but it aint got a rear flap. its £100. however he can get the full hood and rear flap etc in to order. drop him a line. Super bloke
