Hey guys, so I'm new on here, but will very soon be the proud owner of the below 1989 ex coast guard Land Rover defender 90. I'm planning on restoring it to its former glory. I figured if I'm going to do it, I want to do it properly and get it as close to original as possible.

I've been in contact with the coast guard station it was posted at, unfortunately they didn't have pictures of mine to hand, so they sent me pictures of a C reg that was almost identical. Apparently the lights on the C ref were Identical to mine.

So question is, where would be best to look for original/replica spot lights from the late 80s? Does anyone know of anywhere I could source the blue lights (FOR SHOW USE ONLY)? and how would the be wired and switched?

Thanks in advance

hi, how are you getting on with your ex CG 90?
My dad was in the CG when they had a G reg 90 on station and it was slightly different from the C reg one in the pictures. Mainly by having a full width lightbar and no spotlights as the lightbar had those built in.
Also the vehicles originally had the HM CG lettering written in black lettering on the rear roof on the yellow part, and marine rescue written in a sort of dayglo orange on the rear panel. The bonnet was also dark blue, as the new markings and yellow bonnet where brought in roughly halfway during the vehicles life. (these where changed in 2003 approx)
Would love to see pictures of your landy how it looks now :)
