Evoque blind spot detection problems

Hi, I recently bought a 2017 Evoque and realised immediately that the blind spot detection was faulty. It’s been back to the dealer (not a JLR main dealer) and had some software updated.
Picked it back up today - and still faulty. Anyone had similar issues, know what the problem is and what needs fixing?
 
I take it you are talking about the lights in the wing mirrors?

What’s it doing to make you think it’s faulty?

Yes I am. When driving the symbols in the mirrors are constantly coming on and off (with no vehicles alongside) and then after a while the warning notification Blind Spot Notification Not Available appears.
 
Our L322 flicker on and off a lot usually the passenger 1 but the reason is the roads we drive and it picks up the vegetation at the side of the road. They are fairly sensitive.
The only time we had the second warning was when the car was muddy as hell. And I mean muddy not just dirty:D.

I doubt that’s the case on either count for you. I would suggest you go and talk to the sellers and get. Them to sort it.

We don’t cover the evoque much here sorry. Somebody may know more as I am pretty certain it’s the same across the range.

I will certainly be taking it back to where I bought it but was hoping to understand the actual problem/fault that they needed to fix. It’s been back once and the ‘upgrading of software’ obviously wasn’t the answer!

There are very few ejoke owners on here, and even fewer who bother with it. Harsh but true. There is a website dedicated to them, where you might get more answers. It is called something like ejokeowners. Com or . Co. Uk . Have a quick search and I'm sure it'll pop up.
Good luck with your current issues, and next time, buy a Range Rover. Even a Sport would do ;)

Hi there, I'd call jlr themselves and ask if there is a update or recall for the issue and take the info back to the seller and see if they can rectify it or find a compromise that suits you both. ;)

I have to say this post highlights the issue with vehicles made to take the driving responsibility off the driver. The supposed improvement, and , safety feature, is, instead, distracting the driver.
Get your ejoke on diagnostics and turn the feature off. If the blind spot is really bad, your mirrors can't be adjusted to cover it, and you can't see by turning your head, buy a little stick on blind spot mirror.
 
This is why we were taught the "last chance" look.
The driver aids on cars breed contempt and create the thought of non responsibility. I've had a car back into my old omega saying the beeper did not work.... Not to point this at our thread poster, but modern cars are taking responsibility away from drivers...

I prefer to rely on my tow hitch.:eek::D
 
I think the blind spot detector shoud sound a bloody big siren in the car to make the driver aware of the filtering motorbike, specially if it's me that's filtering :D
The driver is still responsible for their actions and can't use faulty mirrors as an excuse, after all the warning sign is on the mirror anyway.
