ever thought about buying an ebay heater control valve?

as the title just to make people aware i bought one of the genuine oem pattern parts from the usa and after 6 weeks on the car it has failed, the plastic has gone brittle and as you can see by the pic it just broke up, luckilly had my faulty original to go back on for now.

most likely i've just contacted the seller to request a refund and asked them to pay return postage if they want it back

At least you've diagnosed it.
I'd never buy anything from the 'states again unless I really had to.
Worth paying that bit more to get it from over here, it can be more hassle than it's worth IMO.
