Evening all,

Thanks for allowing me to join.

I've half bought (having a few days trial) a p38 2.5dse, registered december 1999.
125000 miles, in blue.
Lovely motor, auto, nice to drive etc etc BUT.....
My mate has only had it 6 weeks, and put 1000 trouble free miles, until the other day.
Now and again, not always, she flags up the injector light and goes into limp mode.
No miss fire, nothing abnormal at all.
He got it home last night, turned off and went back to it about half hour later, light off and pulling like a dream, no issues.
I've had it happen to me just now, drive 3miles, fine. Switched off for 15mins, drove away and within the 1st mile it's back on.
He has run it to the red line on the fuel gauge, and topped up from there. Wondering whether he's dragged some crud into the injector(s)? Or am I hoping lol
Any ideas on worst case scenario as a fix cost wise.?
And anything a DIY er could check /rule out?
He's a straight guy and is prepared to cover repair cost as long as its not mental money.
Another mate is a guru with anything land-rover and has his own place, trouble is he's flat out and tricky to get hold of.
Thought it's worth an ask on here before I call in with him next week to pick his brains.
Many thanks
TSW
