Hi,
I'm in West Dorset and a month or so ago I bought a 1959 Series 2/3 88" bitsa with a Rover V8 in it. I'm having "fun" getting familiar with Imperial thread sizes, replacing the fluids, ironing out the little niggles with it and deafening the local populace. The step-sons are enjoying bouncing around in the back and looking forward to getting the roof off once summer arrives. Next thing on the agenda is a centre box for the exhaust to avoid the unwelcome attention of the local constabulary, followed by the chrome balls...

All the best.

Si.

Welcome. What kinda gearbox has it got? The V8 will have too much power for an original S2/3 box. Exactly what is it; an S2 or 3?

Hi John.

As far as I'm aware it has a Series 2 gearbox which I believe is stronger than the Series 3 version. It hasn't gone bang yet...

Although it has a S2 chassis, drive train and front end it has a S3 bulkhead and dash, hence the bitsa comment.
