ERR2344 Gasket Help

I am rebuilding a 300TDI 23L43373B I ordered a gasket kit and i am nearing the end of the build, i have a small round gasket about 3/4 OD part # is ERR2344, on the parts print it is shown behind the front cover, yet in the assembly manual for the 300TDI it made no mention of this gasket.

I believe the ERR2344 goes between the block and the front cover to seal off the hole for the tensioner bolt. The engine has a HRC2631 front cover, i removed the tensioner bolt and looked down the hole, it is not drilled through the front cover so oil cannot get in their.

Is the ERR2344 not required on the 300TDI or does it go in a different location, I am not looking forward to the job of stripping everything down to get in behind the front cover

I've looked on Microcat, it shows ERR2344 between the block and the front cover as you say, but isn't detailed enough to show exactly where it goes, and as you say, Rave makes no mention of it.
So, I haven't been any help really, but I didn't want you to think no one has looked at your post
