Well here we go.
I thought I'd given up on modding and fixing cars when I ditched my 205GTi about 20 years ago. I got talked round though by an eight year old Land Rover fan, and I have to say I'm really looking forward to getting my hands dirty again.
Taking delivery next week of a 1996 Defender 90. Have to say it seems to be in good nick, clean all round, reasonable history on it, so pretty comfortable.

One thing though, it looks to me like it sits high, I was thinking the suspension had been lifted but the seller says it's just the tyres, it's been fitted with what look like oversize tyres, 265x75 I think.

Would that take account of the height, is there a definite way of telling if the suspension has been lifted? Ideally I want to keep it all as close to the original spec as possible.

It will be smaller lol

No am not sure if there's specific measurements,
Mine has a 2" lift & I have roughly 6" gap between tyre & wheel arch moulding (plastic flexi arch) running 85 tyres if that's any help

:welcome2: to the mad house, stick some piccys up and people will probably give you a good idea if it has been lifted or not

They also vary a bit depending on how tired the springs are. I put new springs on mine and people asked me of I'd lifted it as it was sitting noticeably higher. I even went and got the packaging out of the bin to see if I'd bought lift springs by accident, but they were standard. So there's quite a bit of variation even when things are supposedly standard.

+1, I got a good (apparent) 2" lift just by replacing my tired springs with nooo ones (standard)
