With limited room, I want to lift the body of my disco. Just enough to get access to get a wheel on the chassis. Hopefully no welding will be required on front end but I've done so much on the back I may aswell do the front too. Do we think my concept will work? I have a few tubes and couplers knocking about.. Thought I could make the longitudinals line up with the sills.

She is high anyways with 2" lift. Was thinking of lifting as high as possible with the jack then assembling the frame side by side. I think the engine and box may get in my way though. hmmm. Would be nice to split and have body on one side of drive and chassis on other. Brain is whirring!!!

Its the old red tape that may stop that. Not sure I have anyone that can do it! Sounds like its about 600kg. Was thinking if I can lift the rear the height of the scaff pole width I could jack her up by rear body mounts and slide the pole under the sills and through the gap? Then do same for front

If you get it on a trailer I will lift off the body with a forklift in swindon.

Or Get some heavy duty jockey wheels to raise it on your frame work.

Just a thought where you going to store the body/chassis you've just doubled you work area. ;)

Here a tip.... get some castors these fit on your body mounts and you can push a shell around but floor needs to level.

Looks dangerous to me, you will never see a load bearing scaffold like that on a construction site. Load bearing legs need to be vertical and braced in both directions.

Cheers Phil. I have the other side of the drive to put the chassis on. I didn't put the landy on there originally as it would've been all the neighbours could see from their window lol. Floor is fairly level but does have slight slope...

I think you need a LOLER expert before someone gets hurt.
A couple of genie hoists should do it and are easily hired for whatever period you require them.

I lifted my fender body off when doing a chassis swap with some scaff poles, and small scaff tower and ratchet straps. I appreciate there is a weight difference, but should defo be doable, just be safe and logical! :)

If I had the indoor space I definitely would. I'll see how I go. Easiest would probably be to take Phil up on his offer and bring the chassis back separately. Unfortunately I haven't got grandad rights but could call in a favour somewhere...
