Hi all
I’ve bought myself a discovery 3 it the engine system failure flashes up the bloke I bought if off says it’s because the egr’s have been blanked! I’ve plugged it in and there’s no codes or anything showing! So is there anyway I can stop it flashing?
Thanks 😊

Take it back and get your money back ;).

Have a look and see if it has been blanked, or just disconnected, first.

Oh and welcome:).

Hi

I suspect the D3 is post 2007 which when the egrs are blanked a software patch update is required to stop the lights from flashing

think the patch costs around £200

plus if u don’t mind me adding , plse ensure the oil pump has been replaced with a revised one, particularly if the D3 is 2007 onwards

if u intend to keep the disco is really beneficial to get a diagnostic code reader , along with a multimeter

hope That helps

Cheers for that it’s a 09 I have so I’ll look into the patch. have you any idea on the cost of the oil pump?

no probs and indeed that will req the patch, the actual oil pump is only around £200 but is quite involved , normally when it’s done many replace the timing belts and water pump at the same time , for that I’ve seen quotes ranging from £800 - 1200 hopefully it’s been noted in some of the previous history invoices etc that came with the landy

Not trying to scare u but just a heads up as the weaker oil pumps can and do fail which would ruin the engine

hope that helps
