Engine shake

Having an issue with the 300tdi engine. When it’s running and I rev high the engine has a heavy shake and almost feels like it’s on the verge of cutting out after I release the rev.

Only does this on high revs, low revs are fine.

Any ideas what this could be?

Possibly fuel starvation, but without knowing a bit more about the injun, hard to say…. Any air in the fuel? LP ok? …..

Could be timing too, do you have a tacho? What sort of RPM are you talking about…

I’ll see if I can upload a video here tomorrow. It’s foot fully down on the accelerator almost.

sounds like only firing on 3 cylinders

could try cracking off each injector nut in turn and if a good one will stall but no difference on bad one

Iirtc the 300 inj pump has a few extra bits over the 200 ones, external levers anti stall or something like that?
