engine seems red hot . helpppppppp

hi guys . noticed yesterday that my engine seems 2 b getting red hot. i have a m plate v8 disco which is lpg converted. ok here goes temperature gauge showing normal , no water loss dont seem 2 b anything leaking???????? if i pop the bonnet after useing her 4 a bit the engine seems very hot. the alternator , air con pump and everything at the front seems 2 b red hot. any ideas any 1?

by red hot do you mean hot to the touch or too hot to touch or even so fookin hot the fookers glowing?

no only noticed it earlier. cars running sweat as but i dont wanna risk baki ng it if i have an issue with it. all hoses r fine temp gauge runnin at bout a qwarter planty of pressure in the expansion tank but it feels red hot .

is yer fanny workin? the engine should run at just under 100*c water temp and the metal bits will get hotter as they store heat yer oil should run at about 120*c, don't forget that not far away there is a combustion cycle that burns at around 1200*c and that heat has to escape somewhere

i was thinking that the viscous may b fooked on me fan. seems i can turn the fan cold or hot. is this supposed 2 happen? im very basic as 2 mechanics . cheers

it should be easier to spin when the engine ist calt zan ven ze engine ist hot, i would remove the viscous and fit a slimline elektrik one in its place

think i will but dont wanna spend money on thatif it aint. so if myengines hot the fan should b difficult 2 turn?

it should be harder to turn, have you got aircon? if you have you could turn the aircon fans on

There's nothing wrong with it!

It is a HEAT ENGINE!!!

It works by making HEAT ! !

If the coolant level is good and the temp gauge shows OK, leave the bonnet shut because it only upsets you when you open it.

Keep the viscous coupling fan. It maintains a steady ventilation of the engine bay even when you are stopped which is good.

V8 is known for being/giving out HEAT as long as your levels/gauges are ok you should'nt have anything to worry about
