Engine remap - are the plugin units anygood?

My TD5 D2 could do with remapping the ECU. I've had it done on my Audi A4 by AMD tuning and its brilliant. I've always shyed away from the plug in units but ive just been browsing paddockspares and they offer a PSI Powerbox. As paddocks are a reputable company I expect they wouldnt offer it if it wasnt at least 'good'. Has anyone tried any such kits and if so would you recommend any in particular.

My main problem is my car is based in Slovakia where we lack UK landytuning specialists

PSI Powerbox is good. Just get the right one for your car.

I had my car done at AMD you will get a better result with a remap but you can swap cars with a box

Remap is better. You could take out your ECU and send it to Mike at Dynachip?!?

I've taken a gamble and ordered the PSI box from Paddock. Hopefully it will give a noticeable difference. Also bought the K&N filter and silicone hoses. The latter is probably not 'needed' but gives a good reason to fiddle with the engine for a day or so.
