Hi

Can someone offer me some advice of how I can cover/protect the engine block after I have removed the cylinder head ?

The engine is a 200tdi (in a Disco 1) and the car will be kept outside.

I will be taking the cylinder head off of it for a week or 2 and am worried about the cold weather/frost at the moment and don't want to leave the engine block exposed even with the bonnet shut.

Any advice of what to use to protect it ?

Thanks
Jason

hi mate when i do this kinda stuff i put some old rags in the bore with a light coat of oil on em, then i cover the face of the block with some clothes ( old tea towels or something alike ). i've never had any trouble doing this and i rebuild lots of engines every year.
good luck with your head.
