just topped my oil up on the series 3 2.25 and took some starting when started blew a lot of white smoke and then seems fine but took the oil cap off when running and seems to be a lot of pressure coming out of it is this normal or am i possibly needing and engine rebuild cheers

come to think about it is it worth giving it a service as it hasnt been done for 4 years only been on road 6months will that sort it pointless doing a service if gna have to rebuild though

Was this the first start-up after a long period just sitting there doing nothing?

just after i put the new oil in we started it up and left if running all day for 2 days when i brung it home after standing 4 years and seemed all fine other than a lil missfire now and again since then just topped oil up waters etc and used it went in for an mot and passed first time (did brakes prior and 2bits of welding etc) thats about it

Oh Dear .... beginning to sound like water in cylinders ... head gasket ... compression check time.

too much oil ? head,

as above get the compression tester on it, do a dry run best of 3 tests

then do one with a squirt of oil down the plug holes, just 2 good squirts with a oil can will do, ( clean engine oil) will be enough to seal the rings and give a true reading, then compare the wet readings with the dry.
