its the viscosities that they cant make up their minds on the early manuals recomend 0w30 ow40 etc then they go to 5w30 5w40 etc then even up to a 10w? there seems to be a train of thought that 0w is good for a brand new engine but even this may be too thin and contributes to early vanos failure and some experts have the opinion that 10w should be used, i went for the middle ground :)

The manuals I've seen quote:- 0W30, 0W40, 5W30, 5W40, 5W50 according to temperature range. 5W30 or 5W40 cover the UK temperature range nicely.
