Engine mounting brackets on V8 block P38 vs Defender

I have a 4.6 from a late P38 that I'm about to mount on my defender chassis. I've noticed from my photos of the engine (I've not had access to it recently) that the mounting brackets on the engine block itself don't look like they would fit onto the chassis brackets and round engine mounts that I have. The angles and holes look wrong. I haven't offered the engine up yet as it's in storage and I don't want to bring it out until I know I can get it placed on the chassis to save space. The chassis is a Marsland V8 so the brackets on the chassis end should be of the correct type and in the correct position.

A quick bit of research suggests the engine block mounting brackets for a P38 are quite different looking to those on RRC/Disco/90/110. The question is, are they still compatible with the 90 V8 chassis mounts, or do I need some different brackets to bolt to the block? Googling this issue doesn't yield many answers.

Thanks in advance to anyone knowledgeable who can help...

I dont know but the info is out there as many have done it.
Looking forward to the build fred.
All I can say is you will probably find all the block mounts have the same pattern and position as it it all essentially the same engine.

You seem to have answered your own question surely;)

Good luck:).

Haha yeh I'm pretty certain they are different on a P38, but I wondered if you could still make them fit. The only parts I found that looked like they might be correct for what I need were over £200 which is obviously a lot for a simple pair of brackets. I guess I'm really after someone to give me the correct part number and tell me it's not very expensive ;)

I'll get a build thread going once I've got enough to make it interesting :)

Lots of guys here put the disco V8 in so hopefully 1 will be along soon:).
Good luck, you do realize there is a bunch of electrickery hoops to jump through too?:)

I'm not looking forward to the electrics part, but I'm hoping that a Tornado or Megasquirt ECU and accompanying instructions will make it a bit easier...
