engine misfire

Hi all I have a 05 freelander td4, recently I had problems with acceleration and changed all the filters, I also cleaned out the inlet manifold which was caked in crap, cleaned the map sensor and fitted an egr bypass. the car then ran better than it ever did and I was very pleased. then had to go on a 600 mile round trip to London, for the first 100 miles or so it ran sweet and then I felt a slight misfire and then ok again, as we went on the misfire became more often and the eml light came on and there was no power, no acceleration and the veh would start to slow down, the light went out and we were back to normal for about 20 or 30 miles and then it would happen again, i didn't change the map sensor last time any ideas

Get a fault reader on it to save time and money, otherwise it's a guessing game

Cheeers Tiny, managed to get that done today at a local garage, luckily the garage owner is a landrover nut, it was the fuel rail sensor he had a second hand one and 15mins later back up and running again
