Engine malfunction light has illuminated????

Hi,
Yesterday the 'engine malfunction light' came on on my dashboard. I managed to drive the car home but with very reduced power available with almost no acceleration! I could dive at low speed, about 40 mph and the light would go off, but as soon as I put the accelerator down the light would come back on again?
Any advuce would be great as I probably won't get the car into a garage for about the next 3 days

You will need to get the fuel pressure checked. I had this when my Diesel pump went on my 56plate td4
