engine cut off fault

i have a 1984 90 with a 2lt montego turbo engine which does not cut out when i switch off the ignition but will if i touch the brake pedal anyone got any advice on how to solve this

Does it only cut out using the brake pedal or does it stop when you use other electrical items?
My 2.8 Daihatsu conversion caused all sort of sparky problems due to dodgy wiring allowing the altenator to continuously power the FIP fuel solenoid even after switching it off? Turning on lights etc this would take the power away and the engine would stop.

did you fit it yourself, you have a problem with the wiring somewhere, elimination is the only way

it only seem to do it when i touch the brake pedal

mine started doing this yesterday! i went to pull off and touched the brake pedal and it shut down. gave it a few revs and off i went and it was fine.

is it something to do with the vacuum server filling up or something?
