Gents about to start rebuilding 4.6 engine but have realised I do not have new bolts for main bearing cap bolts or big end bolts (conrod) should I wait till I get new bolts ??

id use the old ones they dont need renewing unless damaged,most do

+1. No need to replace them. Just make sure they are torqued correctly.

If it's a Thor cross-bolted engine you'd probably get away with reusing the old mains, but otherwise new bolts all round are advisable.

the only time ive seen a bolt fail was because it wasnt torqued correctly not because they were reused ,i loctite all internal bolts too,if you buy a recon engine it most likely will have reused bolts

It is a Thor cross bolted converted to gems
