Engine Block weight

while the engine is stripped down I thought I’d check it’s weight

Bare block apart from camshaft is approx 85kg so I’ll stick with the crane for lifting it!

Thought I'd weigh a few more bits before anyone realised the bathroom scales were missing

Engine block with camshaft 85
4 pistons and rods 10
Cylinder head with rockers and cover 20
Crankshaft 22.5
5 main bearing caps 7
flywheel 16
water pump 2
timing case 6
timing gears and bearing 6
Ladder frame 7
flywheel cover 4
oil pump 3.5
Vacuum pump 2
Fuel injection pump 7.5
Sump cover 2.5
oil filter housing with filter 2
power steering pump 4.5
starter S3 5.5
manifold and turbo 12.5

Total 225.5 kg

I sold a tdi lump and the guy came to pick it up in a corsa, in it went!
