They will fit - if you could define your usage of the word "hard" you might get a more detailed response - it'd be hard for someone with no tools and living in a high-rise to do but with enough tools, the right workspace and enough use of the SEARCH feature on here you should have little trouble.

I don't know why I am so grumpy today seeing as my 110 flew through the MOT today, rumours of a Guinness shortage might have something to do with it.

You can replace anything with anything. Try a search on here, most conversions have been covered..............but it does beg the question, why? A V8 running well on LPG rivals a 200 or 300 Tdi in pence per mile running costs.

Converting from petrol to doosul requires a lot of additional ancillaries to be changed so surely you're better off replacing the gearbox for now..............er, that said it could have no end of faults in addition to the gearbox. Convenient that it can't be driven or tested.............and frankly I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole..............but if you decide to...............!

I do hope it goes REALLY cheap - if it's going to be your first vehicle (car?) you might have to empty the rest of your piggy bank to pay for the insurance.

In addition to my 110 passing it's MOT today i finally got round to ringing a few insurance companies for quotes for my assorted landies - i'd been with Direct Line for ages - managed to get a deal for half what i had been paying via Lancaster, and they (apparently) use a breakdown service that classes my 1989 110 as a classic vehicle!

It really must be the impending Guiness shortage that's making me so grumpy.

Congrats on the MOT.. Just had the beast done and needed 3 bits of welding to cross members and set of bushes.. all in all 200 notes and she is back on the road for a year :)

Next step change of tyres and replace the doors for less moth eaten ones.

As for the 110 in fleabay I would go for a running model to start, there will be plenty to do on that, there is always a new watsit to be put on! And ask your self why a 42000 mile vehicle has had a box fail... if they have not looked after that then all the axels could be fooked too. If ya ask me the owner nows nowt about looking after a rover and this is what happens.

a v8 on lpg (in my opinion) is the ultimate. id keep it as is and fix what you got (if you get it). you might find its a lt 95 santana box. you might also find i have one under a dumpy sack 'down the farm' its a goer aswell. im never gonna use it. free to collecter but i want the t' box. im in somerset. message me if you want it.

Thanks for the offer i might take you up onn that if i get it. I have just done an insurance quote for me as a named driver and it was only £836 which i think is cheap seings you would probably pay that for a 1.1 fiesta. I'll let you know :)

I can highly recommend Lancaster, not only have they reduced my total insurance costs by a half, they were also nice enough to deem my 1989 110 as a “classic”

And the bloke I spoke to (Karl) knew that a 1989 110 wasn’t a Defender.

Oddly, most of the other big names such as that quote me happy mob would not give me insurance on my 110 hardtop unless I want commercial insurance rather that private.
