Hi, new to this site, And new to Range Rovers. Just brought a '97 P38 to mess around in and pull the family caravan. As with pretty much everything I buy, I researched buying a P38 to death, found all of the issues that plague these cars, made a plan of what Age/spec I'm going to buy, don't buy the first one I see, don't buy one with current issues, Nothing older than '98, black/dark blue colour, and mileage less than 100k. Went to view the first one I found, which didn't meet any of my requirements (but it was the first one I've seen so it was worth a look to find out what I need to look for) and brought it 😳
But I think it's ok. Recipts for over 12K over the last few years, Turner engine, recon transfer box, gas conversion and a decent MOT.
It's a bit leggy, with 186,000 on the clock, but everything except the drivers heated seat and A/C work, at the moment. From Stockport to Southampton it cost me £38 in LPG!
I am currently replacing all brakes and radius arm bushes. Then get the headlining done. Then see what breaks. Get ready for tears, questions, more tears and hopefully a few laughs as well.:D
