Just a quick 'ello ( pun intended! )

I've been lurking for a while but was recommended to sign up after my P38 appeared on You Tube & Flickr.

I'm just finishing the restoration of P83 JOX - Former West Midlands Police CMPG Range Rover. Not much left to do now and her first show will be at Sandbach Festival of Transport on Sunday 22nd April.

What's the gen on driving around in a vehicle with blue lights, do they work?

Lots. Briefly -

3 years on the Motorway and 11 years at the WMP workshops as the workshop donkey - all documented history until July last year with 175 entries on the service record and 189,000 on the clock.

Appeared on the TV series "Motorway" in 1997 ( it's on You Tube ).

All equipment is correct to the vehicle for 1997 Spec, it all works.

I'm a member of policecaruk.com - so we get invited to events throughout the country. A log book of movements is kept and all equipment is covered when on the road plus a few other "requirements" that we as owners are obliged to adhere to.

I also own a Merseyside Police Jaguar, but Land Rover owners wouldn't be interested in that...!!

Yes, as long as the wording and equipment is covered / deactivated and that I have a genuine reason for the journey - such as attending an event. It most definitely isn't a daily driver!

After a successful day out to Sandbach, the Ranger will now be at Brooklands on 7th May (Bank Holiday Monday) and Sandwell CC Show on 13th May 2012.
