Driving home in the land rover today after replacing the thermostat, glanced down and noticed the temp is in the red top hose is roasting bottom hose is cool and water is header tank is ambient temp I'm
About 15 miles from home is there anything I can do before waiting 2 hours for the as to turn up

Remove stat and run without. Wait for it to cool first though

Did the new stat come in a blue box perchance?

Bleed it propper ?

Take the 'stat out if you haven't already done that.

Sorry I got myself moving again and then ran out of battery, the stat is a brand new genuine land rover part. I'm thinking the sender may be lying as I am now getting any boiling issues just the gauge saying hot upon further investigation
