Disco 4 (LR4) Electronic parking brake

So my other issue is the EPB needs replacing. I know the emergency release has been pulled prior to me buying the car.
My question is where to get the module etc?

Landrover want £715.20+vat for the module and that is on back order with no ETA.

What are my other options? I’ve seen a module repair service via eBay which has good feedback

Is there actually anything wrong with it?
Usually they just overwind and Jam because of lack of adjustment on the cables, which ends in the emergency release being pulled.
There have been a few threads on here about them, I would first get it adjusted correctly then let it relatch and see what happens.
Or take it apart have a look see if there is any physical signs of plastic gears stripping.

But why was the emergency release pulled? it could have just broken down and they pulled it to get it on the recovery truck

A good breaker would be ok if it was in working order but who knows.

I take it you are not talking about the electronic module that controls it?

Sorry I am referring to the black module under the car. Diagnostics show the emergency release has been pulled so I am looking at best way to repair/replace the module under the car. When you use the hand brake button you can hear the motor working

Just cos it’s been pulled doesn’t mean it needs repair/replacement.
The relatch procedure should be easy, have a look in the owners manual, the L322 is but I don’t know about the LR4?

Adjust it and relatch it see what happens. Then decide if you need to get in amongst it cos it isn’t easy to get to

.

As said do a search on here as much has been posted about them.

Plus 1 ^^^^^ as indeed they can normally 9/10 be simply rebuilt with new cogs etc
