I have a 300TDI and it is fitted with LED indicators. A fault has just appeared and I wonder if anyone can suggest a cure.
The left turn indicator works as normal with the dash indicator light. but the right turn flashes both left and right indicators and not the dash indicator light.
The hazards work but there is no dash light.
Any thoughts.

Steve.

I’m having a similar problem on my 200tdi.
I have fitted wipac leds.

All the indicators and hazards work ok but the tell tale on the dash isn’t working

Check your earths first, as it sounds as though the RH indicator is locally earthing through the rest of the system.

I have checked the earths and all are OK, I have just noticed that when I switch on the right indicator the left ones although lit are not as bright as the right ones.
I must add that they have worked perfectly for several years.

New information.
I have found the relay and it has a knob on the top and if I turn it up then the trailer warning light comes on. It does not alter the indicators, they still are not working properly.

Unbelievable. I suddenly realised that the small left wing indicator light was not working and I took it out and it then decided to work {poor connection on the capless bulb}. Lo and behold everything works as it should. I can only think that the LEDs take such a small current that the capless bulb which I think is 5W has a great effect on the system as the dash indicator earths through the left lamps when indicating right and right lamps earth through the left lamps when indicating left.
I THINK.
David 1 See if your small wing lights are working.

Thanks for everyones contributions I learn something new every day.
Steve.
